I'm getting a nephew in October!

A master's student at Georgetown is working on fan fiction for her thesis. There's a survey and she needs as many people from as many fandoms as possible to complete it so that the diversity of fan culture is represented.

I was very excited to hear about this book. Not only is it a collection of essays about one of my favorite TV shows, it's edited by Rob Thomas himself, the creator of Veronica Mars.

I'm ignoring the (lack of) catastrophic Veronica Mars news, but I'm well on my way to finishing Neptune Noir, so my review should be up soonish.

I'm so not a Fergie fan, but I don't mind "Big Girls Don't Cry." Maybe I'm just distracted by the Milo hotness. Seriously, tattoos and a skeevy ponytail should not be attractive. There's something wrong happening here.

And holy crap! Jenna Fischer broke her back in four places. Ouch.

I love Zachary Quinto. I think he's adorable on the Heroes cast commentaries, and he makes Sylar absolutely compelling. This awesome autograph makes me smile every time I look at it.

Once there was a king who created a new kingdom. A few villagers heard about the kingdom, and they traveled to see it. They found it unlike any kingdom they had seen before. They praised the parks and fields and houses of the new kingdom, and they decided to live there. The king would come to talk to the villagers, and they told him how they loved the new kingdom. The villagers loved the kingdom so much that they told their friends and family about how wonderful it was. And the kingdom grew.

The king was still hard at work building the kingdom. He created new lakes and parks. One park was the most beautiful park the villagers had ever seen, and they loved the park. They continued to tell people about the kingdom, and kings from other lands praised the kingdom as well. And the kingdom grew.

Oh, and I'm going to Purdue for grad school, in the Gifted Education program.

I got into a grad school! I don't have to live with my parents for the rest of eternity! I still don't know what they're offering me or anything like that. Still, I have at least one option. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have some choices.

My mom cried when I told her. Neither of my parents went to college, but my mom has been taking theology classes for her job, and she's been pretty overwhelmed with the amount of work that goes into her once-a-week class. She said it gave her new appreciation for the work that my brother and I did to get through college.

I'm more relieved than excited so far. This one is really far away (Baylor University in Waco, TX). Here's hoping for more replies soon!

1. Lose weight.
2. Exercise regularly.
3. Go to church every week.
4. Write something at least once a week.
5. Get grad school apps in at least a week before deadline.
